What started out as an atypical cold and windy February morning in Palm Springs turned out to be a day full of sunshine. Even though it was cool, the SoCal Colavita Crew enjoyed the 105 mile route and we have the photos to prove it! Our friend and former Crew member, Steve from Chicago, joined us for this outting and it was great to have him along for the ride. Bob and Nina did the whole ride on the tandem (Nina’s first century!); Eric, Caleb, and Steve did lots of pulling on the front of the group; Gary managed to keep everyone well-behaved and working together; Chris and Yvette dished out some unwelcome pain at mile 100 with few surges and sprints; Bill nearly lost his bike to the desert winds (see photo); and the Crew retained its reputation as an inclusive group willing to work together for the greater good (just ask the hundreds of riders who were pulled along by the Colavita train, enjoying the steady pace, courteous behavior (i.e. pointing out pot holes, debris, etc.), and goofy antics of the SoCal Colavita Crew!)
Another great Palm Springs Century added to our list of favorite rides!
